Dance competition

GO over to the T-Hop, sixth floor of Sungei Wang Plaza at 2pm today and watch Jolin wannabes dancing their moves in the Jolin Dancing Competition semi-final. Selected contestants will compete in the final scheduled to be held at 12.30pm on Nov 20 at the Concourse Level of Sungei Wang Plaza. The champion will walk home with RM500 cash, KBS Beauty product worth RM500, air ticket to Taipei and accommodation in Taipei as well as Jolin Tsai World Tour Concert Ticket in Taipei. 1Malaysia carnival

COME out and play at SK Assunta's ‘Karnival 1Malaysia' from 9am to 3pm today. Egyptian carnival

THERE will be a "Night at the Egyptian Museum" tomorrow from 3pm to 8pm at the Stars & Planet Edufun Club, 26 Jalan 19/31, Petaling Jaya. The educational Egyptional theme carnival will feature a movie about the Egyption history and culture, tour of the Egyptian museum which was put up by the kids and teachers as well as dance and performances by the kids. Art exhibition

ARTIST Soh Boon Kiong will be having his latest solo exhibition titled The Lyrical Flow at the Museum of Asian Art, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, from now until Nov 25. The series explores the various dimensions and aesthetics of nature as reflected in his paintings using large formats as the canvas to express the inner interpretations of his soul in relation to the macro and micro dimension of the large universe surrounding him. The exhibition is open from 10am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday. Admission is free.

Family fun day concert

THERE will be Family Fun Day concerts today at 3pm andtomorrow at 2.30pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, KLCC. Conductor Carl Davis will be leading the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) in these fabulous concerts, together with magician Chase Lew. Next, there will be a concert by the MPO chamber ensemble schedule d on Tuesday at 6.30pm. The repertoire: Prelude from Suite No.5 in C minor (composed by Bach), Trio Sonata in C minor (Telemann) and Piano Trio No. 1 in B flat ( Schubert).

Waterski Championship

PUTRAJAYA will host the final round of the 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championshi p this weeke nd at their popular Water Sports Complex in Presint 6 next to the Putrajaya Maritime Centre and the five-star Pullman Hotel. The exciting weekend of waterski & wakeboard competitions and fun for family members of all ages is organised by the Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation and promoted by Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Sdn Bhd. The events will commence from 8am and end at 5pm today. Tomorrow, the event be gins at 8am and ends at 4pm with a prize presentation ceremony at 4 .30pm after live performances by Malaysia's recording artistes. Live performance

DANIEL Veerapen, one of Malaysia's youngest producers and jazz pianist, mixes up a hybrid of Latin Jazz an d R&B. Comprising many originals from his up and coming album ‘Deroma', Daniel intends to portray a fusion of modern jazz and chill-out lounge culture. Inventing a night of fun and grooves, the young artist showcases everything from musical styles and genres that he has grown to love over the years. Joining him this weekend is Marco Alonso on percussion/guitar/vocal.

The show will be at 10pm tonight at 10pm at the Alexis Ampang, Great Eastern Mall, Kuala Lumpur. Admission is free.

Arts and Crafts Bazaar

PIPIT, an online group of indie designers and DIY aesthetes, celebrates its fourth anniversary with the fifth instalment of its very popular arts and crafts bazaar Wonderful Market V. This time the market is bigger with more participating artists. There will also be an exhibition of works by indie designers. Meet the participating artists and check it out the unique handmade, craft, pop art, workshop, exhibition and more. The bazaar and exhibition will be held today from 12pm to 7pm at the Annexe Gallery, Central Market. Admission is free.

Diabetes forum

METRO Fine Art is hosting Jaja Yusof's 1st solo exhibition: Meowland. The exhibition views the life of the city cat through Jaja's imagination. Her new artworks are inspired by her greatest passions on cats and the bonding between humans, positive feelings and animals.
