EVERY bride wants to shine on her wedding day. This was what prompted Amee Philips Exclusive Jewellery to be the main sponsor of the Now & Forever: A Carnival of Love bridal event organised by Star Publications (M) Bhd and endorsed by the Penang Government.
Its managing director Amee Philips said she sponsored RM20,000 for the event.
“We see this bridal carnival as a good opportunity to offer our best jewellery for couples,” she said after presenting a mock cheque for RM20,000 to Star Publications (M) Bhd representative Leong Shir Mein yesterday.
The bridal fair will be held at Queensbay Mall, Penang, from Oct 6 to Oct 10 between 10.30am and 10.30pm. The highlights include a Visit & Win Contest, Peranakan Showcase, Japanese Showcase and a bridal photo competition.
The bridal fair is one of the three components of the eight-day carnival.
The other two are a mass wedding registration ceremony on Oct 10 and a mass honeymoon programme for foreign and local couples from Oct 9 to Oct 13.
Philips added that the event was also a perfect time to showcase the company’s Versatile collection and its patented ‘V clip’.
“Our V clip creations allow jewellery enthusiasts and customers to combine separate pieces of jewellery and produce their own elegant creations,” she said.
She added that there were more than 100 separate designs to choose from.
The jeweller also plans to introduce an exclusive wedding registry list touted to be the first in Malaysia.
“We usually give ang pows to the Chinese and other gifts for couples but the wedding registry list will feature our exquisite creations as memorable gifts for the couple getting married,” she said.
She added that if response was good, they would include the services of bridal houses, travel agents and even make-up artists on the list.
Philips started out as a gemstone collector before launching her very own boutique jewellery in Penang in 1992.
Her V clip concept has been patented and won the coveted Malaysian Good Design Award in 2006.
