Boosting national integration through art


GALLERIA, an established private art gallery in Kuching, is showcasing a variety of paintings and photographs themed My Malaysia in conjunction with the nation’s 53rd independence day during August and September.

Art lovers and collectors can view a wide spectrum of styles by artists and photographers from Penang, Selangor, Pahang, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak.

The collection reflects the rich culture and creative ideas of artists from different socio-cultural backgrounds and traditions.

The artists and photographers are Dr Nazlina Shaari, Sylvester Jussem, Matthew Ngau, Abdullah Jones, Sukairi Shahri, Dr Khairul Aidil Azlin Abdul Rahman, Hakimi Halim, Adrian Dominic Ho Fui Ken, Awangko Hamdan Awang Arshad, Melton Kais, Mohd Faizuan Mat and Raphael Scott Ahbeng.

National Art Gallery director-general Datuk Mohd Yusof Ahmad, who officiated at the exhibition on Friday evening, lauded Galleria for supporting local artists and promoting national integration through art.

Galleria is located at Wesberly House on Rubber Road West and it is open to the public from 8.30am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
