Warning for councillors

PENANG Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has warned councillors that their ser-vices could be terminated any time if they failed to perform satisfactorily.

“The state government will not wait till end of the year to take action (by dropping the councillor) since we can take action any time,” he said in his speech at the swearing-in of 24 Penang municipal councillors at the City Hall Building in George Town yesterday.
