KUALA LUMPUR mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail has come out to clear the air following a local English daily’s report that he revoked a three-year contract to supply flowers to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
The RM32.4mil contract was to supply flowers to the DBKL’s tower in Jalan Raja Abdullah, to beautify and landscape major roads in the city from Feb 24, 2006 to Feb 23, 2009. Ahmad Fuad, who was ill at ease about the report and the following commentary that credited him for righting a wrong, told StarMetro that the contract had expired in February 2009, hence there was no question of him revoking it.
