Family Fun Day concerts

THE Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will be presenting Family Fun Day concerts at 3pm today and at 2.30pm and 4.30pm tomorrow at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) in KLCC. In concerts themed Water Music, conductor John Georgiadis, will navigate the audience through music inspired by one of the three elements of life; water. World Osteoporosis Day Carnival 2009

THE Osteoporosis Awareness Society of Kuala Lumpur (OASKL) is organising Malaysia’s first official World Osteoporosis Day Carnival 2009 until tomorrow at the Orange Concourse in Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya. The carnival features activities that centre on educating the public on the importance of healthy bones for life and promoting awareness of osteoporosis. Those over the age of 55 can take the self-assessment one-minute test drawn up by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). There are also trained and qualified paramedics conducting a heel bone ultrasound screening to assess the state of your bones, and qualified health professionals which includes doctors, physicians and dietitians, to provide expert advice. Magazine’s anniversary celebration

VISITORS to Berjaya Times Square this weekend will have a chance to enjoy various activities lined up in conjunction with the Apple Magazine’s 11th anniversary. The event, at the shopping complex’s lower ground concourse from 10am to 10pm today and tomorrow, features game shows, performance by artistes, dance, hair shows and supermodel competition.

Streetball challenge

BERJAYA Times Square in Kuala Lumpur is hosting the AND1 Streetball Challenge 2009 from 8am to 6pm tomorrow at the Boulevard. The annual event will feature talented players and promises an enjoyable show at the final leg of the 3x3 street basketball challenge.

Cars and Bikes Carnival

NAZA’S car and motorcycle motor show returns with the Naza Cars and Bikes Carnival being held in the sprawling grounds of the Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya. The three-day event, which runs from 10am to 7pm daily until tomorrow, is open to the public, and all Naza customers are particularly welcome. Public forum

THE Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM) and the National Anti Drug Agency (AADK) will host a public forum to help parents and concerned friends to identify, persuade and help any individual who is addicted to drugs.
