CHINESE Taoists observing a vegetarian diet for the Kew Ong Yeah or Nine Emperor Gods festival in Penang need not worry about going hungry — numerous stalls have been set up all over the state to cater to the devotees.
Apart from the basic rice and fried noodles, many of these stalls also sell dishes like vegetarian meat rolls and satay, hawker fare such as bak kut teh and curry mee and Western dishes such as vegetarian burgers and pizza.
