Month-long feast of prized Shanghainese Hairy Crab The truly exquisite and crème de la crème of crabs, the Shanghainese Hairy Crabs make their annual debut at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa’s West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant from Oct 1 to 31. Flown in from the Yang Cheng Lake in China, the freshwater hairy crabs or dazha xie — widely hailed as the “King of Crabs” — are noted for their sensationally creamy roe as well as sweet and succulent white meat. The crabs arrive on their annual autumn pilgrimage to be savoured by gourmets in a variety of preparation styles such as Steamed Shanghainese Hairy Crab in Bamboo Basket, Steamed Shanghainese Hairy Crab in Teochew Sauce and Steamed Shanghainese Hairy Crab with Glutinous Rice, each at RM88++ per portion prepared by West Lake Garden’s Chinese Master Chef Chan Choo Kean. There’s also Steamed Shanghainese Bun with Crab Roe at RM12++ per portion, Duo of Vegetable with Bamboo Pith and Crab Roe at RM38++ per portion and Braised Shark’s Fin with Crab Roe at RM50++ per portion. The outlet also serves two five-course Shanghainese Hairy Crab set menus for a minimum of two diners priced at RM128++ per person and RM138++ per person. Deepavali temptations Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Light, is celebrated on a grand note at the Cinnamon Coffee House, One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. From Oct 1 to 31, Cinnamon’s brigade of chefs have created a delicious celebration of tempting and fiery Indian cuisine for buffet dinner, priced at RM85++ (adult) and RM43++ (children four to 12 years ol d). Watch chefs in action as they whip up your request a la minute. Speciality dishes are fragrant with the likes of Vegetable Kofta Curry, Dhall Palak, Chicken Jelfrezi, Fish Menthe, Fired Squid with Turmeric Sauce, Fried Crab with Garlic Sauce, Broiled Lamb Stuffed with Onion in Pita Bread and lots more.
