Seat-belt rule flouted

KUCHING: Drivers and passengers who fail to strap on their seat belts should be slapped with community service along with the maximum RM300 fine to raise awareness on the seat-belt ruling.

Sarawak Road Safety Department director Rano Aylwino Akat said the community-service sentence needed to be implemented, like in Singapore, to prevent first-time and repeat offences.
