A HYPERMARKET manager in Rantau Panjang at the Malaysia-Thai border has taken the initiative to ask customers to produce their MyKad before allowing them to buy sugar.
Liew Hock Su of Pantai Timur Shopping Complex said he wanted to make sure the customers were genuine buyers and not those who wanted to make a fast buck by selling the item across the border.
