Contra-flow

THE Petaling Jaya City Council will carry out a traffic contra-flow system from Jalan Gasing heading towards Old Klang Road and the New Pantai Expressway, especially towards Petaling Jaya Selatan and Subang Jaya. It will be on a 30-day trial period from June 8 to July 7, from 5pm to 8pm. Road users are advised to follow the rules and plan their travels to avoid getting caught in traffic jams. Public talk

THE Centre for Continuing Professional Education of Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman will be organising a free public talk on Managing People and Change During Economic Downturn. The talk shares a broad perspective of leadership and people management effectiveness. It will be held on June 11, 6.30pm-8pm, by P.M. Low, a trainer specialising in change management, at KTAR Learning Centre, Ground Floor, Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang, KL. Latin American Festival

MAKE your way to the grand annual Latin American Fiesta tomorrow, 11am - 5pm, at the Qba Courtyard in The Westin Kuala Lumpur where you will find plenty of food, art and craft on sales from various Latin American countries. The Cuban stall will offers authentic Cuban cuisine, beers, Cuban cocktail “Mojitos” and many more. The proceeds will go towards the Majlis Kanser National (Makna) sponsored by the Latin American Ladies Association in Malaysia. Entrance is free.

Book-signing session

THERE will be a book-signing session by Anas Zubedy today at MPH Mid Valley from 1pm to 2pm and tomorrow at Popular, Ikano Power Centre from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Before the session, you can share your views with Anas on topics from his book Have a meaningful Malaysia, such as personal development, Bangsa Malaysia, Why & How we can stop corruption, How to be happy at work & at home and what top management looks for in top talent.

Crow-shooting operation

THE public are advised to be careful when passing by the areas where the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) will carry out crow-shooting operations tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm. The venues include: Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Isfahan, around the DBKL headquarters, Bangunan KUWASA, Wisma PKNS, Lorong Gombak Jalan Bonus and the surrounding areas.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

UNIVERSITI Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) will be conducting a series of awareness talks on Traditional Chinese Medicine in collaboration with Tung Shin Hospital. The first talk series on Cancer: Prevention, Treatment and Recuperation will be held on June 13, July 4 and July 18 respectively, at the Centre for Extension Education, Petaling Jaya Campus, from 3pm-5pm. The talks are conducted in Mandarin. The speaker is Prof Zhao Tian Yong, committee member of the Professional Oncology Committee, Association of Integrative Medicine.
