Dept D-G’s FT Day message

TODAY we celebrate 50 years of the formation of the Federal Territories, starting with the declaration of Kuala Lumpur as the first Federal Territory on Feb 1, 1974.

As we reflect upon our shared 50-year journey, it is evident we have fostered significant development across Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan within the Federal Territories.

I am very proud to be part of this journey with the cooperation of the Federal Territories citizens, and appreciate all efforts made to enable the Federal Territories to remain steadfast, progressive and prosperous.

The essence of our strength is the deep-seated value of unity that guides us through various challenges.

My thanks to all key players in the industry including corporate bodies, NGOs that have always supported the efforts of the Federal Territories Department, and the agencies in implementing various collaborations for the well-being of all parties.

Happy Federal Territories Day!

Datuk Noridah Abdul Rahim

Director-General, Federal Territories Department
