MALACCA: After a decade, Malaysia as relegated international sepak takraw kingpins and having played second fiddle to arch rivals Thailand, turned the tables by notching a 2-0 second leg final victory and their first-ever ISTAF Superseries mantle in Malacca.
With a win over the Thailand last coming in the SEA Games final in 2005, this time around Malaysia recorded a comprehensive 21-7; 21-19 win compiled in 52 minutes of play witnessed by some 3,000 fans at the Malacca International Trade Centre.
