Shine Bright SME Pickleball Tournament 2026 is bringing Malaysia’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) community together through one of the world’s fastest-growing sports while promoting wellness, meaningful connections and stronger entrepreneurial communities.

Jointly organised by the women and young entrepreneurs bureaus under SME Association of Malaysia, the event builds on the success of last year’s Shine Bright 1.0, a 5km Fun Run held at KL Tower that brought together more than 3,000 participants.

Women Entrepreneurs Bureau national vice-president Datuk Miccele Siow said Shine Bright 2.0 creates an opportunity for entrepreneurs, business leaders, teams and families to connect, stay active and enjoy a healthier lifestyle together.

“We are especially pleased that the Women Entrepreneurs Bureau and SME Young Entrepreneurs Bureau are joining hands for the first time to organise Shine Bright.

“By bringing women and young entrepreneurs together, we hope to combine experience, fresh ideas and new energy, while creating more opportunities for networking, collaboration and community building.

“At the heart of Shine Bright is a simple message: to build a strong business, we must also build a healthy lifestyle.

“We hope this will encourage more entrepreneurs to stay active, connect with one another and grow together as a stronger SME community,” Siow said.

Young Entrepreneurs Bureau national council member Teh Gaik Cheong said pickleball reflected many qualities that were important in entrepreneurship, including teamwork, adaptability, continuous learning and staying healthy.

“Pickleball reminds us that, just like in business, teamwork and collaboration are essential.

“As entrepreneurs, we should continue to embrace new trends, keep our mindset young and take care of our health.

“Through Shine Bright, we hope to build stronger friendships, connections and opportunities within the SME community,” Teh said.

The Oct 11 tournament in Shah Alam, Selangor, is expected to bring together 200 participants in three categories – Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

SME Association of Malaysia national president Dr Chin Chee Seong said the initiative reflected the association’s broader commitment to building a strong and connected SME community.

“Shine Bright SME Pickleball Tournament 2026 is more than just a sporting event.

“It reflects the spirit of our SME community – staying active, building meaningful relationships and creating opportunities to connect beyond business.

“Through this initiative, we hope to encourage our women and young entrepreneurs to come together, strengthen their networks and build a stronger sense of community.”
