DBKL allocates RM2.24mil to upgrade Wangsa Maju PPR

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM2.24mil to upgrade People's Housing Programme (PPR) Wangsa Sari facilities and improve maintenance work.

The allocation includes building repainting works (RM1.1mil) sub-main cable and main switchboard replacements (RM904,000), road resurfacing works (RM136,000), fire safety system upgrades (RM101,000) and the construction of a bridge (RM200,000).

Measuring 18m long with a 2m-wide path, the bridge connects the PPR to a Wangsa Sari field.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud said the bridge is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“It will provide a safer and more convenient route for residents, who had to walk along Jalan 2/27A to access the park," he said during a press conference held at the PPR.

The programme is expected to benefit about 1,061 residents.

Also present during the press conference are Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and Wangsa Maju MP Zahir Hassan.
