Rain Rave festival set to boost tourism

THE Rain Rave Water Music Festival will be held in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, from April 30 to May 2.

It is co-organised by Tourism Malaysia and The Fame.

Tourism Malaysia, in a statement, said it aimed to boost tourism and local economy as part of Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

Other states and Labuan have also expressed readiness to organise complementary activities tailored to their local contexts and cultural elements.

Rain Rave features immersive environments inspired by rain, a diverse line-up of international and regional DJs alongside Malaysian acts, and curated local market experiences showcasing Malaysian food, culture and creative expressions.

“Rain Rave remains rooted in Malaysian identity with a contemporary approach that reflects both tradition and modern creativity,” the media statement read.

As it is held in conjunction with Labour Day celebrations, the festival is also a tribute to the contributions of workers and will be developed into a signature annual event in Malaysia’s tourism calendar, Tourism Malaysia added.

Cultural and content support will come from Istana Budaya, the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, the National Department for Culture and Arts and the National Heritage Department.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry said comprehensive planning was in place, including traffic management, crowd control, safety protocols and coordination with enforcement agencies to ensure a safe, orderly and well-managed event.
