Owners of three entertainment outlets in Klang fined RM101,000

KLANG Royal City Council (MBDK) slapped the owners of three entertainment outlets in Taman Bayu Perdana and Bandar Bukit Tinggi with fines totalling RM101,000 for operating without valid licences.

In a media statement, MBDK Corporate Communications Department director Norfiza Mahfiz said the outlets were blatantly ignoring local regulations.

“MBDK Enforcement Department instructed the operators to apply for the licences to become compliant.

“Enforcement staff issued the fines as a deterrent to prevent recurrence,” she added.

In the enforcement operation last week, a cafe in Taman Bayu Perdana was hit with a RM25,000 fine under the Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment 1995.

The operator was also fined an additional RM1,000 because their outdoor advertisement board was not licensed.

In the same neighborhood, a lounge was fined RM25,000 for lacking the necessary entertainment permits.

Meanwhile, in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, an unlicensed centre housing both a lounge and a snooker hall received two separate fines of RM25,000 each.

Norfiza said the enforcement team had previously instructed the operators to apply for the proper licences.

She added that the city council would continue to conduct regular checks on premises across the city to ensure all businesses operated legally and to minimise the need for such heavy penalties in the future.
