KL welcomes 2026 with a bang

KUALA LUMPUR was a blaze of colour, fun and excitement during the launch of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) tourism campaign and I Lite U initiative in Bukit Bintang.

Building on the momentum of the New Year countdown, the city’s Golden Triangle area dazzled with decorative LED lighting, a flashy parade and exuberant crowds.

Amping up the buzz was Malaysia’s Oscar winner, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh (below), who illuminated the stage in her bright yellow dress.

She said in her speech, “Our arms, hearts and shining country are open to welcoming you.

“May the light we switch on shine brightly in the hearts of all who see it.”
