SUBANG Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has rolled out the second phase of its popular mobile app, offering visitors an enhanced and seamless shopping experience.
Tourists and residents can now use the updated platform to find detailed information on the city’s key retail areas and plan their shopping trips with ease.
Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim said the app was an essential tool to support seasonal influx of tourists to the city.
“MBSJ will have continuous information updates on the app via ‘Helo Subang Jaya’,” he said at the city council’s full board meeting yesterday.
“Helo Subang Jaya” is a digital hub designed to promote the city’s tourism within the Gemilang MBSJ app.
Earlier, Amirul launched Phase II of “Gemilang MBSJ” with the upgraded version of “Helo Subang Jaya”.
“It includes features such as viewing local products with detailed information, and the latest events and promotions at shopping complexes.
“‘Gemilang MBSJ’ aims to support the growth of the local economy and tourism sector while making it easier and faster for tourists to obtain souvenirs and local products, thereby establishing Subang Jaya as an attractive tourism destination,” he added.
Amirul Azizan said the city planned to promote tourism by providing information and creating an immersive experience through the app.
He said tech-savvy travellers could seek out features offering real-time updates and easy access to all the information a person would need to enhance their trip.
However, broader online initiatives were needed to generate awareness of MBSJ’s tourism mobile app, he added.
Subang Jaya councillor Ronald Tah said the app was among MBSJ’s proactive steps to support Visit Malaysia 2026.
‘Gemilang MBSJ’ has also been enhanced with 17 user-friendly modules, including for easier checks and payments of assessment tax, licences, permits, council traffic and towing compounds, swimming pool entry fees, reserve parking fees, deposits and rentals for council facilities, building permits, Ramadan bazaar applications, and bills.
Amirul Azizan said the additional modules allowed ratepayers to deal with city council matters online without needing to be physically present at the counter.
The app accepts payments via credit card, FPX and Touch ’n Go e-Wallet.
MBSJ introduced the “Gemilang MBSJ” app in February this year with the “Helo Subang Jaya” module.
