S’gor local authorities told to maintain drainage in flood-prone areas 


All local authorities in Selangor have been instructed to take immediate action to maintain drainage systems which are prone to causing flash floods.

State disaster management committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the directive must be implemented promptly to prevent flood incidents in non-hotspot areas, such as the recent case in Hulu Bernam of Hulu Selangor.
