KOMPLEKS Bukit Jambul (KBJ) hosted a joyous Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with guests, business leaders and members of the community at its mall in Penang.

The event was graced by Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and his wife Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor.

KBJ chairman Datuk KH Chan expressed his heartfelt appreciation to KBJ’s partners and everyone present, emphasising the importance of the family spirit, togetherness and support the shopping complex received over the years.

“We are truly grateful for the unwavering support of our partners and the community at large,” he said during the celebration last weekend.

“In the face of global economic uncertainty, such as recent tariff policies introduced by US president Donald Trump, our top priority remains protecting and assisting our small traders, especially bumiputra entrepreneurs under KBJ’s umbrella.”

Chan also acknowledged the economic challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, during which KBJ granted rent waivers totalling RM1.5mil.

He also thanked the state government for its relief measures.

Underprivileged children from the Penang Islamic Orphans Welfare Federation, who were invited to the event, each received duit raya as well as goodie bags and RM100 cash vouchers from Mydin.

Chan highlighted Khadijah’s generosity in providing new festive outfits and duit raya for the children.

“In recognition of KBJ’s ongoing welfare efforts, the complex was recently awarded ‘Most Charitable Shopping Centre’ by Batu Uban assemblyman A. Kumaresan,” he said.

In addition to enjoying a variety of Raya delicacies, guests were treated to cultural performances and a fashion show sponsored by local boutiques, including Ronna Rnt, Mahakarya, Shasha’s Collection and Trisiswanto.

KBJ also unveiled exciting promotions, where shoppers stand a chance to win an electric car sponsored by Datuk Seri Syed Muhamad Aidid Syed Murtaza, as part of the ongoing KBJ Customer Rewards programme.
