Ex-gratia payment for Selangor civil servants, community leaders

SELANGOR civil servants will receive a special payment of one-and-a-half months' salary or a minimum of RM2,000, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari says.

When announcing this, he said the sum would be split into two payments.

One month's salary or a minimum of RM1,000 will be paid on March 25 and the second payment of half a month's salary or a minimum of RM1,000 will be paid out starting April 15.

Amirudin said the second payment would be given under the state's revenue record incentive. The state saw a high collection of RM2.867bil last year.

The Mentri Besar said revenue collected so far this year as of Feb 28 was over RM605mil.

This amount, he said, was RM32mil more compared to the corresponding period last year, noting that the RM605mil has also exceeded a quarter of the annual target.

Amirudin said the incentive would also be extended to community leaders, village liaison officers, Wanita Berdaya Selangor supervisors and youths in Penggerak Belia Selangor.

"They will receive a half-month's allowance or a minimum of RM500.

"Mosque staff will receive RM500, which will be donated through Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated," he said at a Ramadan event at the Bangunan Sultan Abdul Aziz in Shah Alam on Wednesday (March 19).

He said the state government was also showing its appreciation to federal civil servants in Selangor with a RM250 special payment to those earning a basic salary of RM3,000 or less.
