KLANG Royal City Council (MBDK) hopes to make a difference in the lives of cats it has rescued by setting up a dedicated website to promote adoption.

MBDK Health Department director Azmi Muji said the proposed website to help cats in its shelter get adopted was still in the discussion stage.

“Our shelter sees a lot of stray cats brought in. We hope the website will increase their chances of adoption.

“It should include posts and pictures on felines at the shelter.

“We also plan to include tips on how to care for the cats and ensure they can adapt to their new homes,” he added.

Azmi said adoption meant taking responsibility for a pet’s well-being, health and safety.

MBDK’s cat shelter is located at Taman Kucing Klang in Bukit Raja.

“We also need to ensure the cats look their best in the photos and when potential adopters come to the shelter,” he said.

On another matter, Azmi said MBDK would resume its regular programme offering vaccination for dogs at a subsidised price and dog licence renewal service next month.

The programme is scheduled for April 19 at Padang Taman Klang Utama, Persiaran Sungai Keramat and on April 26 at Padang Taman Selatan, Jalan Palas. It will be held from 9am to 4pm.

The vaccination is priced at RM55 per dog and licence at RM10 per dog.
