THE Subang Jaya Half Marathon 2025 marks the first-ever 21km run organised under Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) purview.

The event, previously known as Larian Komuniti Subang Jaya 10K, had featured 10km as its longest route.

The first edition of Subang Jaya Half Marathon will be held on Feb 23 at Subang Parade in SS16, Subang Jaya, Selangor.

It will feature three categories for different age groups.

Participants in the 21km category will be flagged off at 4am, 10km category at 7am and 5km category at 7.15am.

“The run is organised by Puncak Ventures SRA Sdn Bhd and Selangor Para Athletics Association in collaboration with MBSJ,” said the city council’s Corporate and Strategic Management department in a statement.

“In an effort to encourage inclusivity, Subang Jaya Half Marathon 2025 will include a special 5km disabled challenge for those who are wheelchair users.”

MBSJ held a sponsorship presentation ceremony at its headquarters in USJ5 to introduce the event’s 15 sponsors.

Subang Jaya deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali and MBSJ deputy secretary Ismail Salim represented the city council while Puncak Ventures SRA was represented by its managing director Zainudin Lot.

The run’s sponsors include Puncak Ventures SRA, Kahf Everyday, F&N Beverages Marketing, Orthopaedic Specialist Centre, Mamee-Double Decker Sdn Bhd, Sports Paragon and Subang Parade.

“Subang Jaya Half Marathon 2025 aims to promote a healthy lifestyle as well as strengthen the spirit of sportsmanship and unity in an urban community,” the statement read.

“We hope that the programme will serve as a platform for city folk to have fun and live a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, while supporting MBSJ’s efforts to realise the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), namely SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.”
