HEALTH talks have been organised by Hospital Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman at various schools in Kampar, Perak.

The talks are part of the

hospital’s outreach programme to create awareness and educate children on the importance

of physical, mental and oral healthcare.

The hospital’s medical specialists from various departments have conducted the talks and consultation sessions at schools like SK Methodist (ACS) Kampar, Pei Yuan High School, 3Q MRC Junior, SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar and SJK (C) Kampar Girls School.

Hospital Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman chief executive officer and medical director Prof Dr Lau Hui Ping said the programmes were to “give back to society” as the generosity of donors had contributed to the development of the hospital.

“Our programmes included collaborating with local schools to nurture young minds on the importance of physical, mental and oral healthcare.

“Early exposure and education on health issues and care for personal health will have a profound impact on children’s development,” she said in a press statement.

“This would potentially lead to better overall community health in years to come.

“Stress, poor health and nutrition can hinder children from reaching their full potential and it is our hope that we can help them maintain good overall health and well-being while also developing their mental and physical health,” she added.

The hospital also conducts community engagement activities to raise health awareness. — By IVAN LOH
