University fetes 2,253 degree holders from 29 countries

A TOTAL of 2,253 graduates from 128 academic programmes received their scrolls during Management and Science University’s (MSU) 33rd convocation.

The ceremony was held over two days at the MSU Chancellor Hall in Section 13, Shah Alam, Selangor.

A total of 25 graduates were conferred PhDs; 42, master’s degrees; 1,285, bachelor’s degrees; and 901, diplomas.

Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) presented the most number of graduates (838), while Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) presented the most number of programmes (30).

Master in Fashion Business as well as Master in International Business programme at the Graduate School of Management (GSM) presented its first graduating cohort.

So did the programmes Bachelor in Takaful (Hons) from FBMP; Bachelor of Product Design (Hons) from Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE); Bachelor in Broadcasting (Hons) from the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS); and Bachelor in Airline Services Management (Hons) from the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).

Also graduating were international students from 29 countries including Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Singapore, India, the United States, Indonesia, Somalia, Brunei, Sudan, Yemen, Ghana, Sri Lanka, China and Thailand.

Fifty-nine graduates received Best Students awards.

The Chancellor Gold Medal Award went to Bachelor in Nutrition (Hons) from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Wiksa Virijo Vicheet, who gave the valedictory address throughout the three sessions of the convocation.

The President Award went to Master in Business Administration Lenny Juvena Azmi of GSM, Bachelor in Industrial Management (Hons) Kow Ee Vone from the FBMP, and Diploma in Culinary Arts graduate Wan Nor Athirah Wan Nor Azam from the SHCA.

The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award went to Bachelor in Psychology (Hons) Farhanis Alisya Farizal from SESS.

Twenty-eight received an Academic Award and 26 received an Industry Award, comprising both diploma and degree graduates.

Present at the convocation were MSU chancellor Raja Muda of Kedah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, president and founder Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid who delivered the presidential address and vice-chancellor Prof Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.
