THE night was young but hundreds of people were already crowding near the entrance of the Gong Badak Indoor Stadium in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
Inside, some 1.3 million LED lights illuminated the venue, injecting vibrant colours and luminescence into the cool atmosphere.
The Luna Light Wonderland festival, previously held in other states, had finally arrived on the east coast.
Inside the stadium, vast networks of lights of various themes, including the solar system and a Star Wars-inspired exhibition, kept visitors enthralled.
Many, including families and friends, were spotted posing against the glowing backdrop and capturing the scene on their smartphones.
Outside the venue, food stalls and game booths were set up.
The festival is scheduled to run from 7pm to midnight daily until May 12.
The event, a collaboration between Red Bear Event and Kuala Terengganu City Council, aims to draw locals and tourists.
The organiser, in a statement on social media, said Kuala Terengganu was the fifth stop in its list of 10 locations for the festival this year.
Tickets are priced at RM15 (adults) and RM8 (children below 12). Entry is free for people with disabilities.
