Habib to open flagship store in heart of KL

RENOWNED jewellery maker Habib is set to open its first flagship building near Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur by December 2025, capitalising on the area’s popularity as a shopping hub to draw foot traffic.

The seven-storey premises spans a total of 42,800sq ft and will comprise retail spaces, offices and event venues, among others.

Habib Group executive chairman Datuk Seri Meer Habib, in a statement, said the building reflected a commitment towards the history and cultural significance of the Jalan Masjid India area.

“As we break ground today, we embark on a journey to redefine the landscape of Masjid India and celebrate the enduring bond between Habib and the community here.

“Our flagship building will not only be a premier destination for exquisite jewellery, it will also be a symbol of our commitment to cultural and economic revitalisation of this historical district,” he said on Monday (Feb 5) at the groundbreaking ceremony of the building.

Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh and Habib Group executive director Datin Seri Zarida Noordin.

Habib first opened its store in the area in 1986.

The store, located on the ground floor of the Semua House complex, has since been closed after the complex went through a major renovation last year.
