THE red double-decker London Bus, which has been making its way around Penang, will be open to the public until Feb 4.
The bus, which belongs to M Summit Group, will be at Karpal Singh Drive, Penang, from 6pm to 9pm.
Apart from an opportunity to take photos and step inside the bus, visitors would receive an exclusive London Pavilion bag.
The air-conditioned cabin is decorated with English designs and furniture to add to its British charm.
At the back of the cabin is a small living area with an artificial fireplace.
M Summit Group sales and marketing manager Alex Wai said, “It is a moving sales gallery for our latest apartment project – London Pavilion.”
He said the double-decker bus, reminiscent of the classic London transport mode, has been making waves since it began plying the streets of Penang on Jan 23.
“Many Penang folk have spotted the big red bus as it made its rounds in areas such as George Town, Ayer Itam, Bayan Lepas and Batu Maung,” he said.
Wai said that when the bus made a brief stopover in Ayer Itam, many curious residents and tourists asked if the bus had come all the way from London.
“It is actually an express bus modified to resemble the iconic London bus,” he said.
M Summit Group managing director Datuk Albert Moh said the bus served as a mobile advertisement and was glad that the project was well received.
“Instead of having one static show gallery in Jalan Scotland, we came up with an alternative plan to reach the masses – a show gallery on wheels.
“Apart from turning heads and sending many on a photo-taking frenzy along its routes, the bus offers visitors a chance to learn about London Pavilion’s offerings when making pit stops,” he said.
London Pavilion is a freehold residential project in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
It houses 527 units ranging from 982sq ft to 1,510sq ft.
The show unit is located at Scots Pavilion condo, Scotland Road.
