Flash floods hit parts of KL, several bus routes affected

FLASH floods have hit a number of areas in Kuala Lumpur following a downpour on Friday (Oct 6) evening.

Photos and videos on social media show floodwaters have inundated some roads in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras and Pudu.

Traffic along Jalan Pudu, Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah has been affected by the floods.

Also affected are the parking lots of UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute in Cheras and Bandar Sri Permaisuri.

On its social media page, Rapid KL informed that some of its buses were unable to pass through several areas, including Jalan Chan Sow Lin.

It said buses on routes T352, T400 and T401 would not be operating as usual because all bus stops were not accessible due to the floods.

“Buses on Route 590 are also unable to pass the Jalan Chan Sow Lin tunnel and will be diverted to Jalan Yew heading towards Jalan Sungai Besi before returning to the original route.”

It added that the bus stops which were inaccessible were at Chan Sow Lin LRT station, Pencetakan Nasional, Hyundai Services, Perindustrian Trisegi and Toyota Sg Besi.
