State polls: DAP's Dr Quah to contest in Bandar Baru Klang


KLANG Municipal Council’s (MPK) seventh full board saw the absence of councillor Dr Quah Perng Fei, 49, who has tendered his resignation to stand in the upcoming Selangor polls.

Dr Quah, 49, a medical doctor who oversees Klang Utama, Bandar Bukit Raja, Taman Mutiara 1 and 2, was named as a candidate for Bandar Baru Klang by DAP.

"As of today, July 27, I have tendered my resignation," he said.

Dr Quah when contacted told StarMetro, he had served the people in his zone as a councillor for two years and seven months handling various issues related to basic amenities that dealt with MPK’s departments and other local authorities.

"It has been a sharp learning curve for me and it has been a good experience. I hope my involvement as a councillor would put me in a better position to serve the rakyat," he said.

Dr Quah did his medical studies at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago.

"I thank MPK’s council president Noraini Roslan, employees and fellow councillors for their support," he said.

Bandar Baru Klang, has 82,826 registered voters and Dr Quah said he hoped to serve the people in the area.
