DBKL: Most markets in city closed for Raya, a few to stay open

KUALA Lumpur residents have been advised to take note that most open-air and covered markets under the purview of City Hall (DBKL) will be closed on Saturday and Sunday (April 22 and 23), in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“However, the two-day closure is contingent on the actual date of Hari Raya which will be announced in due course,” DBKL said in a statement.

Markets that will remain open during that period are: Pasar Pudu, Pasar Taman Cheras, Pasar Pagi Taman Midah, Pasar Jalan Kelang Lama, Pasar Jalan Genting Kelang, Pasar Seksyen 2 Wangsa Maju, Pasar Sentul, Pasar Jinjang Utara, Pasar Jinjang Selatan, Pasar FRI Kepong, Pasar Terbuka Kepong Baru, Pasar Terbuka Jalan Rejang, Pasar Air Panas, Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Pasar Alam Damai and Pasar Ikan Emas.

The Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market will also be closed from 9am on Friday (April 21) until 9pm on Sunday (April 23) (fruits and vegetables sections) and until midnight on Monday (April 24) (fish section).
