New approach to urban planning

AN AFFORDABLE homes project in Kuala Lumpur has received the thumbs up after a visit by the Local Government Development Minister.

Minister Nga Kor Ming met urban developer SkyWorld Development Bhd for an industry briefing and site visit to SkyAwani 3 Residences in Setapak.

During the briefing, SkyWorld shared the company’s vision for sustainable urban growth and showcased its approach to urban planning.

The briefing provided an opportunity for SkyWorld to discuss key priorities for urban development in Malaysia with the minister.

Nga and his delegation were given a guided tour of SkyAwani 3 Residences, which is part of SkyWorld’s Awani series that offer affordable homes to Malaysians under the Residensi Wilayah programme.

After the project tour, the minister visited the SkyWorld Quality Centre, a first-of-its-kind facility in Malaysia that acts as a quality benchmark for all SkyWorld developments.

“At the ministry, we are always looking at solutions to provide affordable homes that are liveable, accessible and which have good connectivity and community.

“It is good to see that SkyWorld is committed to sustainability and is using innovative technologies and materials in its developments,” said Nga.

SkyWorld Development Bhd chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said, “We will continue to innovate and push the boundaries of design and promote sustainability matters.”

The company has won numerous awards including the FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards 2022 for SkyAwani 2 Residences as the winner in the Affordable Housing category.
