MBSJ adds 10 new Ramadan bazaar locations

Zulkurnain says six traders will have a Menu Rahmah option.

There will be 10 new Ramadan bazaar locations this year under Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) jurisdiction.

Four are located in Serdang/Seri Kembangan – Jalan LEP 1/1c in Lestari Putra, Taman Serdang Raya (opposite Serdang Raya Mosque), Jalan Putra Permai Selesa and Jalan LP 7/2 in Taman Lestari Perdana.

Three are in Puchong – Kampung Tengah (Jalan Kempas), Persiaran Saujana Puchong (Jalan SP 3) and Sri Begonia Apartment (Jalan Puteri 7/1).

The remaining three are in SS13 in Subang Jaya (Dataran Millenium carpark), TK4 in Taman Kinrara (Jalan TK 4/5) and Bukit Lanchong (Jalan Besar) in Putra Heights.

Subang Jaya deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali said all 1,046 applications for the 26 locations had been approved.

He, however, added that there were still 524 trading lots available.

“Although applications are closed now, those interested in reserving a lot can still approach the city council for consideration,” he said at a press conference after the Ramadan bazaar carnival and briefing at MBSJ’s multipurpose hall in Taman Puchong Indah, Puchong, Selangor.

Zulkurnain added that six traders would also be having a Menu Rahmah option at their stalls.

He said it was important for traders to use a cashless system to make payments easier for customers.

“It is also important because it will allow MBSJ to identify local traders.

“This year, the economy is expected to slow down, so this is one way to ensure that licensed traders are able to keep the local economy going,” Zulkurnain said.

With the digital age here, he added that traders also needed to move with the times.

“We recently approved 630 trading applications and these traders will be required to utilise ewallet apps,” he added.

He also said that those interested in applying for a trading licence could do so online and they would be notified within 24 hours if their application was approved.
