MPK offers discounts on parking violations from Dec 12

Noraini: Motorists should use the promotion period to settle their traffic compounds.

IN conjunction with the Christmas season, Klang Municipal Council (MPK) is offering discounts of RM15 to RM200 on various council traffic compounds from Dec 12 to 31.

MPK president Noraini Roslan said motorists should use the promotion period to settle the traffic compounds and to avoid legal action.

“The discounts do not apply for the offences related to misusing reserved and disabled parking bays and obstructing parking spots.

“Payments can be made via Jompay, Smart Parking MPKlang, iKiosk machines at MPK and ipay.mpklang.gov.my,” she said.

Noraini added that payment could also be made at MPK headquarters and branches at Jalan Tengku Kelana, Jalan Raya Barat and Komplex Pasar Besar Meru on weekdays from 8.30am to 4pm.

“Our council will also open extra counters at the Giant Bukit Tinggi hypermarket from 10.30am to 4pm from Dec 12 to Dec 31.

“Motorists can also check outstanding compounds on the iPay website or the parking app,” she said.

On Dec 17 and 18, MPK’s mobile service for the payment of assessment tax will be stationed at Econsave Kapar hypermarket from 9am to 1pm for the convenience of ratepayers in the area.

Noraini hoped that people would make use of the service provided.

“They can drive a shorter distance or walk to the van to make payment,” she said, adding that the mobile service had been in operation for two decades.

“We will continue to display the scheduled locations of the van on social media platforms and put up buntings in strategic areas,” she said.

Norainin added that assessment bills for the first half of 2023 have been sent out to ratepayers and payment must be done before or on Feb 28, 2023 to avoid a fine RM20.
