Petroleum geoscience degree recognised by UK


UTP’s Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Petroleum Geoscience has obtained accreditation from Geological Society of London.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) achieved a milestone when its Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Petroleum Geoscience programme obtained accreditation from Geological Society of London.

The recognition shows that the UTP programme is of the highest quality comparable with similar programmes by leading universities in the UK and Ireland, such as Cambridge, Oxford, University of Aberdeen, Cardiff University and National University of Ireland as well as King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia.

A graduate of this accredited programme will directly gain the experience relevant to achieving the Chartered Geologist or Scientist (CGeol/CSci) status.

One of its kind in the Southeast Asian region, UTP’s undergraduate Petroleum Geoscience programme is ranked in the top 60 for Mineral and Mining Engineering by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in 2022.
