A HEALTHCARE and beauty chain store has teamed up with Zoo Negara to support Jessy, the Malayan tapir, and a milky stork by adopting them for the second continuous year.

Zoo Negara deputy president Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana said the national zoo’s expenses were between RM1.2mil and RM1.3mil a month.

“Our revenue stream is mainly from gate collections followed by public donations. We welcome sponsorship of our animals,” he said.

“I’m extremely honoured to be a part of this initiative.

“Protecting and caring for nature and animals is a noble and meaningful act in preserving for future generations,” said Watsons ambassador Ayda Jebat.

Watsons will donate RM1 to Zoo Negara’s welfare fund when customers buy Naturals by Watsons lavender products.

Infused with lavender as the key ingredient, the collection promotes relaxation.

It is naturally formulated, contains certified organic ingredients and is 100% vegan.

The products are not tested on animals and the packaging is made of post-consumer recycled plastic.

With affordable prices ranging from RM12.90 to RM27.90, the collection comprises a shower gel, body scrub, body lotion and hand cream.

Naturals by Watsons products are dermatologically-tested and approved by the Federation of European Toxicologists and European Societies of Toxicology (Eurotox).

“With more than 90% natural origin ingredients, Naturals by Watsons has become the most likeable range of products.

“Watsons Malaysia has always been on the forefront of promoting sustainability by adding more refill stations and encouraging consumers to bring their own bags,” said Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh.

“I encourage customers to bring their own shopping bags as five Watsons points will be donated to Malaysian Nature Society for its conservation efforts,” said Watsons celebrity friend Jinnyboy.

The chain store is offering exclusive promotions, including a RM10 discount with a minimum purchase of RM150 on participating brands in-store and online.

Customers also stand a chance to win prizes of up to RM50,000, including Huawei products and Watsons points by spending a minimum of RM50 on participating brands.

Promotion ends tomorrow.
