New hypermarket opens at Botani Village commercial hub

The largest Econsave hypermarket in Malaysia is at Botani Village commercial centre and has a floor space of about 0.9ha.

THE largest Econsave hypermarket in Malaysia has opened its doors in Bandar Seri Botani, Ipoh in Perak.

Located at the Botani Village commercial centre, the hypermarket has a floor space of about 0.9ha.

Pinji Botanic Sdn Bhd group administrative manager Lee Chalk Hian said: “Econsave is a dynamic and recognisable brand in Malaysia that has grown tremendously over the years.

“The hypermarket chain is poised to provide convenience to the community at Bandar Seri Botani and its surrounding areas.”

It was reported in January 2020 that the hypermarket would be set up at the commercial centre, which was said to have a gross development value of about RM200mil.

The commercial centre, which was developed on a 7ha piece of land, is an integrated, highly accessible commercial and retail hub offering diverse products, services and opportunities for business growth.

This includes retail shops, offices, dining and leisure space.

Lee said that in addition to offering various business and shopping experiences, Botani Village is set to become a premier social and lifestyle destination in Ipoh.

“With its safe, tranquil and inclusive surroundings alongside excellent wi-fi and Internet connectivity, it will become the preferred location for people to meet up for business and leisure,” he said.

Bandar Seri Botani is the biggest township development in Perak, encompassing about 506ha.

Established in 2004 with about 1,200 homes to meet the needs of the lower- and middle-income groups, the township now has a population of about 22,000. — By IVAN LOH
