Company’s energy efficiency practices bags dual honours

The dual recognition is a firm testament of passion to improve PLUS’ green initiatives, says Zakaria Ahmad.

PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) has established itself as one of the key industry leaders in energy efficiency as its headquarters Persada PLUS retained its first runner-up position in the Retrofitted Building category under the Energy Efficient Building Award of Asean Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Awards 2021.

The award has been organised by The Asean Centre for Energy for two consecutive years.

PLUS was also the winner of the 2020 National Energy Award in the Energy Efficiency category for Energy management of Large Building as well as runner-up of the Asean Energy Awards, making it the first highway concession company to receive dual honours this year.

The double recognition is a direct result of its PLUS Green Roadmap, a five-year strategic plan to preserve the environment utilising the most innovative approach.

The awards reflect highly on the company’s continued dedication towards empowering environmental, social, and corporate governance culture in its business practices, securing a spot in the National Energy Award 2021, organised by Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, which automatically qualified PLUS to represent Malaysia at the regional award level.

“This dual recognition is a firm testament of our passion to improve PLUS’ green initiatives,” said its chief operating officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.

“It is also an affirmation of our people to commit towards our sustainable growth and to deliver stakeholder value continuously.

“It’s a truly remarkable effort by warga PLUS and the awards are dedicated to them.”

The award recognises the efforts of both public and private sectors in energy innovation in delivering positive impacts for various industries nationwide.

Asean Energy Awards is South-East Asia’s highest recognition for excellence in the energy management field.
