WITH health and safety being a top priority for citizens across the world, AkzoNobel has introduced three enhanced products under Dulux, its decorative paint brand.

The products are the upgraded Dulux EasyClean, Dulux EasyClean Plus and Dulux Weathershield, which were unveiled as part of a campaign called “Secure Home, Inside Out”.

The campaign aims to showcase the importance of a home as a safe place and how homeowners can protect it from the inside through the use of Dulux EasyClean range, with its anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

Additionally, the exterior of a home should not be neglected.

It can be secured against the elements with Dulux Weathershield, thanks to its ability to combat damage caused by the weather.

As part of its campaign, three children’s homes under Persatuan Rumah KIDS will get a fresh coat with these products.

The initiative, under the AkzoNobel Cares banner, aims to help communities and improve lives with products and expertise.

During AkzoNobel’s first virtual product launch in Malaysia, AkzoNobel Decorative Paints, South East and South Asia managing director Oscar Wezenbeek said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, we are committed to giving back to the community.

“To this effect, we have run many initiatives under the AkzoNobel Cares banner, where we strive to transform communities and have a positive impact on society.

“The Secure Home, Inside Out campaign fits perfectly under this banner because every community begins at a household level, ” he added.

AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Southeast Asia Pacific commercial director David Teng said: “We have a passion for paint at AkzoNobel and because of this, we are continuously enhancing our offerings.

“Both the Dulux EasyClean range and Dulux Weathershield products have been in the market for many years, but we are constantly updating our formula.

“The new Dulux EasyClean formula, besides providing protection against common household stains, now aids to inhibit the growth of bacteria.

“The new Dulux Weathershield, on the other hand, offers two times the protection against algae and fungus, colour fading, alkali, dirt and dust, when compared to a regular exterior paint.

“Together, they provide excellent protection on the inside and outside of your home, ” he highlighted.

When applied correctly, he said Dulux EasyClean paint created a protective layer that effectively resisted and repelled most liquid stains, such as sodas, fruit juices, dark soy sauce, chilli and ketchup, as well as stains created by chalk, dust and mud.

The Dulux EasyClean range comes with Colourguard Technology, which helps walls to remain vibrant for longer.

There are more than 2,000

colour options to choose from.

This range of paint will be joined by another selection known as Dulux EasyClean Plus, which offers anti-viral properties as well.

It is equipped with KidProof Technology, which offers a higher level of protection against tough stains and also inhibits the growth of bacteria.

To help homeowners secure the exterior of their homes, there is Dulux Weathershield with Dualshield Technology – a combination of four unique features that help combat common damage that plague exterior walls.

The first is Smart Release Technology, which according to AkzoNobel, offers two times longer protection against algae and fungus by continuously releasing micro-particles onto the paint surface to prevent the growth of algae and fungus.

“An added layer of protection is its Damp Resist Technology, which is a unique formulation of tough polymers to help resist alkali attacks easily, ” the company stated.

Alkali attacks are often caused by moisture and alkali salt being trapped in the layers of the wall itself.

When these make it to the surface, damage can be done to the paint, often causing white patches and an uneven paint surface.

The other two features are Stay Clean Technology, which is a protective layer that does not allow dirt and dust to accumulate on the surface of the wall, and ColourLock Technology, which helps to combat colour fading thanks to a strong bond between paint molecules.

Both Dulux EasyClean and Dulux Weathershield are now available for purchase at selected authorised Dulux retail stores.

These products will be joined by the new Dulux EasyClean Plus later in 2021.
