PENANG International Halal Hub is now known as Penang Halal International Sdn Bhd (PHI).
PHI chief executive officer Aida Lim Abdullah said the move was to give the brand a more vibrant and robust image.
“The rebranding is also part of the company’s strategy to take the halal industry and the state’s economy to the next level.
“There will also be a new logo. The main aim of the rebranding is to enhance the company’s vision, mission, objective and purpose, ” she said during the launching of PHI and its new logo by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at a hotel in George Town recently.
On the macro level, she said the key purpose of the whole exercise was to build and grow the halal industry and guide business entities to be more competitive in domestic and international markets.
Chow who commended PHI on its rebranding, said the move would enhance entrepreneurial skills of those involved in the halal industry.
“PHI has done an excellent job in guiding and developing entrepreneurs by organising talks and courses over the years.
“We want international investors to make Penang their preferred destination for halal investments, ” he said, adding that the rebrand was a timely move.
Also present at the launch was state domestic trade, consumer affairs and entrepreneurship development committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain.
The halal company which was started in 2008 provides a platform for numerous initiatives aiming at supporting the local and international halal industry through regional and international partnerships with stakeholders.
