RM7mil set aside for single mums to buy essentials

ELIGIBLE single mothers in Selangor will receive a helping hand to lift their burden in light of the movement control order (MCO).The state government has allocated RM7mil to benefit 5,000 single mothers, who will receive RM200 each for purchases of daily necessities at stores.

“This will be given in a cashless form, where we will work with certain shops and supermarkets to help carry out this cashless purchase for single mothers,” said state health, welfare, women empowerment and family committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.
