Mukhriz throws feast to thank Kedahans

KEDAH Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir hosted a grand ‘kenduri rakyat’ in Jitra to thank the people in the state for their continued support.

The event at Dewan Wawasan was also held to celebrate the marriage of Mukhriz’s daughter Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, also known as Ally Mukhriz, to Mohamad Ezran Daud Cheah, both 25 years old.

The couple married on Feb 20 in Kuala Lumpur.

The arrival of the couple and the VIPs including former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali caught the attention of guests who rushed to take wefies with them.Also present at the feast was Mukhriz’s wife Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria.

Some 2,500 people from all walks of life attended the feast which saw guests being entertained by a live band performing Malay and English numbers.

Others spotted at the dinner were former deputy finance minister and Kubang Pasu MP Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah, state Assembly Speaker Datuk Ahmad Kassim, Kedah PKR chairman Datuk Johari Abdul and Kedah DAP chairman Tan Kok Yew.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous spread of local favourites such as beef curry and fried chicken.
