PJX-HM Shah Tower in Persiaran Barat, Petaling Jaya, now has available parking bays on two floors for the public to park their cars and walk to nearby LRT stations.
The building is within walking distance to the Taman Jaya LRT station. The parking bays are on the seventh and eighth floors.
Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran said the parking bays in the building was one of the facilities for people who use public transport.
“It forms part of the Park N’ Ride facility for those who use the Taman Jaya LRT station.
“They can park their cars there with a flat rate of RM3 per entry and it is open 24 hours a day, including public holidays, ” he said.
Rajiv added that there were 222 parking bays available in the building.
“Upon entering the parking facility on the ground floor, they need to press the button at the gate to get a ticket.
“On the seventh and eighth floor, they need to insert the same parking ticket again into a machine to get the RM3 flat rate price, ” he said.Rajiv said the flat rate price was approved by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
Before exiting, users can pay for the parking via an auto-pay machine located on the first floor.
Rajiv said the initiative was to encourage the public to use public transport more often.
“We hope this will reduce air pollution from idle vehicles and help motorists avoid stress from getting stuck in traffic jams, ” he added.
