KUANTAN: It is the time of the year to celebrate with many looking for the perfect place for a festive meal.
Over at Swiss Garden Beach Resort Kuantan, a range of dishes have been created by the culinary team, led by executive chef Muhammad Sunny Choo.
With the theme “Delightful Gold & Silver”, the Christmas eve promotion takes place at the Garden Terrace Coffee House.
Food and beverage service manager K. Ramesh said topping the list was a selection of Mediterranean dishes for the main course.
“Among the highlights are the delectable Tom turkey carvery with a range of BBQ items, roast lamb and chicken, an assortment of seafood on ice and meat, corn on the cob and baked potato with condiments.
“Others include smoked salmon and cheese platter, two types of soup to pair with assorted rolls and artisan breads, as well as a selection of Italian pasta and salad, ” he said, adding that the turkey was imported from New Zealand, perfectly roasted and served with freshly baked corn and carrots.
For dessert, guests and walk-in diners will be spoilt for choice with Christmas goodies such as yule log, mascarpone, varieties of chocolates and ginger bread, cakes, pastries and an ice cream bar.
Ramesh also recommends the fruitcakes, which are soaked in pure orange juice overnight, making them exceptionally moist and scrumptious.
The buffet dinner, from 7pm to 10pm on Dec 24, is priced at RM110 nett for adults and RM60 nett for children and senior citizens.
For three paying adult diners, a child gets to eat for free while there is a buy 1, free 1 treat for senior citizens.
Ramesh said on Christmas Day, there will be a high-tea from noon to 4pm, priced at RM50 nett for adults and RM35 nett for children and senior citizens.
There is also a Christmas buffet dinner with similar main course, plus some authentic local dishes at RM92 nett for adults and RM65 nett for children and senior citizens.
On New Year’s eve, there will be a countdown party themed “Black & White Extravaganza” with the concept of “East meets West” for main courses such as BBQ spread, roast chicken and lamb leg.
In-house guests are entitled to a special offer of buy 3, free 1 and also complimentary dining for two children, priced at RM120 nett for adults.
On Jan 1,2020, there is a high-tea at RM50 nett (adults) and RM35 nett (senior citizens and child) from noon to 4pm.
The new year buffet dinner with a whole lamb is available at RM92 nett (adults) and RM65 nett (senior citizens and child).
Separately, the resort has introduced some enhancements to its dining concept at The Malibu.
Formerly a popular fun pub bistro, it is now a fine dining restaurant serving Western dishes and alcoholic beverages during lunch and dinner.
Ramesh said diners would also get to enjoy live piano music.
The outlet boasts a cosy ambience, complete with comfortable sofa set, high island chairs, as well as nicely decorated dining area in soft pastel colours.
The menu includes duck confit as appetiser, broccoli soup, a choice of either garlic lobster or balsamic honey lamb cutlets for the main course and chocolate indulgence for dessert.
Other selections include grilled lobster, baked lobster, grilled honey balsamic chicken, lemongrass chicken, tandoori lamb cutlets, grilled lamb basil, and surf and turf (jumbo sausage, chicken and tiger prawn served with chimichurri sauce).
Lunch is from 11.30am to 3.30pm while dinner is from 7pm to 11pm.
