NSK Trade City is bringing great deals to shoppers at its latest store in Persiaran Mahkota Cheras, Cheras.

Located on the ground floor of BMC Mall, it spans 3,716sq m and adopts a retail and wholesale concept – to cater to those livign in the surrounding areas.

Shoppers were seen queuing up to get their supply of fresh produce, meat and other household items on the hypermarket’s grand opening.

Pensioner Tan Hock Pin, 63, from Johor Baru, said that he was informed by his daughter that NSK had opened its latest outlet in Cheras.

“I bought a whole chicken, canned lychee and a packet of coffee for RM1 each only.

“I am happy to get quality products at a cheaper price,” said Tan.

He said his wife and daughter took the opportunity to stock up on many items.

“I found that the price for most items like fruits, vegetables and many other products were 10% lower than elsewhere,” he added.

NSK Holdings Sdn Bhd director Datuk Chiew Lian Keng described the new outlet as a “neighbourhood mall”.

Chiew said the company decided to set up shop near housing areas for the convenience of shoppers.

“There are over 5,000 products at this outlet.

“We have imported a lot of quality products from abroad,” he said, adding these included fresh food such as vegetables, meat and seafood.

In addition, Chiew said their business hours, from 7am to midnight, would ensure that “housewives and others could plan their shopping.”

“This is our 21st outlet, and it is one of the biggest in the Klang Valley and Negri Sembilan.”

In conjunction with the opening, the hypermarket is treating customers to a wide range of special offers until Dec 25.

The first 2,000 shoppers got to buy a whole chicken for RM1 each only on the first day.Customers can buy a 5kg NSK pack of rice at RM1 each upon registration of N-Card membership until Dec 23.

Chiew said there were plans to set up NSK outlets in Johor Baru and Malacca by next year.

“This is part of our expansion plan,” he added.

NSK Trading Sdn Bhd project manager Ng Kok Kuan said RM8mil had been invested for the construction of the new store.

“It is located at a strategic site and designed in such a way that shoppers can easily pick up their preferred items,” he added.

NSK (New Seng Kee) is a family business which started in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.

From a kiosk selling groceries and household goods, it has expanded into a retail and wholesale chain.

NSK Trade City also offers in-house products to provide greater savings.

It has established stores in Ampang, Setapak, Shah Alam, Wangsa Maju and Balakong, among other places.
