Penang says yes to strategic partnership with UN-Habitat

PENANG has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat) to establish a strategic partnership to advocate and promote the New Urban Agenda (NUA) and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) here.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the MoU was the first of its kind between a state government and the UN-Habitat, which is the main proponent of SDGs adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015, which Malaysia is committed to fulfilling by 2030.
