AS STAR Media Group marked its 47th anniversary, Shopee joined in the celebration by kicking off the event with a Shopee shark dance flash mob, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and fun giveaways at Menara Star in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

“Since our 9.9 Super Shopping Day coincides with Star Media Group’s anniversary on Sept 9, we thought it would be a great idea to have a joint celebration and mark the good start to a long-term relationship,” said Shopee regional managing director Ian Ho.

“We also wanted to do something different this year for our 9.9 Super Shopping Day,” he added.

With over 500 brands in collaboration with Shopee, this year’s 9.9 sale was seen as the biggest one yet as it featured nine thrilling rounds of Shocking Sales which promised great discounts off its most popular products.

Making a comeback on the Shopee platform was the Shopee Shake, whereby users could shake their phones to make it rain Shopee coins.

Moving forward, Shopee hopes to increase its number of users and encourage them to shop online more by enhancing consumer experience with a wide assortment of products and fast delivery services.
