PERAK and the Czech Republic are looking into strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said Czech Ambassador to Malaysia Rudolf Hykl decided to visit Perak after hearing and seeing good things about the state.
Zambry said the ambassador had visited Perak several times previously before making an official courtesy visit on Monday.
“We are hoping for a stronger relationship, as the ambassador is really impressed with the state, and its natural beauty.
“We discussed several areas of possible cooperation between Perak and the Czech Republic.
“Czechia is fast developing, and the ambassador has listed his desire to work with Perak,” Zambry told a press conference at his office in Ipoh, after the visit on Monday.
Hykl said there are possibilities for collaboration in several areas between Perak and his country.
“We are trying our best to diversify our economic ties , and we are looking into what can be mutually beneficial in terms of trade.
“Czechia is diversified industrially and has dynamic automotive, steel, and tourism sectors,” he added.
Hykl said he feels there is potential to do businesses in Perak, and therefore decided to make the courtesy visit.
“This is a beautiful state. I had the opportunity to visit Pulau Pangkor, the natural and amazing mountains, as well as other scenic locations,” he said, adding that it would be a privilege to work with Perak.
