POTENTIAL property buyers took the opportunity to scout for deals at the StarProperty.my Fair 2017 at Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
While some were looking for their dream home, others searched for properties to invest in.
Among the visitors was tutor Jocelyn Loo Siew Tin, 40, who was looking for a property in the southern part of Penang island as it was closer to the airport and both the Penang bridges.
Among the projects that caught her attention was the The Zen Affordable condominiums offered by Asia Green Group located between George Town and the Penang International Airport.
Loo said it was her wish to experience living in a high-rise condominium, and the project comprising two 47-storey towers is attractive due to its price which starts from RM300,000.
“I’m currently living in a terrace house in Balik Pulau, and our family is longing to live in a high-rise condominium with facilities and a good view.
“This project also provides easy connectivity to other parts of the island and the mainland. It fits our budget of within RM400,000,” said Loo who was accompanied by her two daughters, a sister and the latter’s two daughters.
Present to tour the fair on its first day yesterday was Star Media Group Berhad regional operation general manager (north) Simone Liong, Star audience management (north) senior manager Oun Sui Leng, Star IT operation head (north) Khoo Boo Taik and CapitaLand Retail Malaysia Sdn Bhd general manager (northern region) Selina Ng.
The Star’s contest booth at the North Atrium ground floor was a hive of activity. Visitors thronged the booth to try their luck at the Spin & Win Contest which offers over RM50,000 worth of prizes.
Housewife Lim Phaik Ho, 49, from Taman Sri Nibong, was first in line to spin the wheel at 11.30am.
“I won a grand prize of a Huawei Honor 6X smartphone in the Spin & Win Contest at the Star Education Fair 2017 in March.
“To skip the queue this time, I decided to come earlier and was glad to have my spins done without hassle,” said Lim, who has been a regular participant in the contest for the past three years.
To take part, visitors have to cut out the contest form published in The Star for the corresponding date, fill in their personal particulars and answer a simple question correctly to redeem a spin on the wheel.
To qualify for the daily 8pm special draw which offers the Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro, Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro and Samsung Tab A 8.0 as prizes, participants are required to obtain two stamps by successfully spinning for two ‘Stars’.
Other visitors took the opportunity to register for the Nov 19 Fit For Life Run 2017 at the contest booth to receive an instant gift which is given out while stocks last and a free spin on the wheel.
Visitors who sign up for properties during the fair will get 10 spins while those who sign up for or renew their The Star ePaper bundle subscription will get 10 or five free spins respectively.
Another prize up for grabs is a serviced suite in Petaling Jaya worth more than RM550,000 in the Win A Home (WAH) Campaign.
Visitors who register at the contest booth during the fair will be eligible to take part in the WAH Campaign. Those who place bookings or buy homes from any of the 21 exhibitors at the event will get more entries and stand a higher chance to win.
